The above images are examples of the right way to wear jeans. So glad my colleagues set great examples of what I blog about.
Oh My Word- DENIMS! In 1873 Blue Jeans was invented by, the amazing, Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss. These two guys are heroes of mine as I can live in jeans. Denims are just so versatile. You can dress it up and dress it down and style it to suit your personality.
-denims
I love the various ways designer’s makes denims/jeans for guys. I studied design and fashion and found a great interest in deigning denims and jeans and although it is much easier to make it for guys, a mild design should be available to females.
- wearing broken denims:
When I was younger, I thought it was so cool to wear my jeans, covering my shoes and the ends would eventually become worn out and torn. But times have changed and honestly ‘what was I thinking!’ I could easily blame it on my tomboy stage but it was just me not knowing any better at that time. Now at this age, I find it so annoying when I see people walking around looking great but their jeans hemline is busy tearing apart. My boyfriend has a pair of jeans like that, that hemline has died long ago and it’s being shredded. Ah- why, that all I ask myself.
Jeans are bought with the hemline in tacked. If the hemline was meant to be shredded to strips, the designer would have made it that way intentionally. So let all not do that. If you are short, suffer from a lack of growth, like me, and you buy a pair of jeans; please, I beg you, take it to a tailor and get it shortened so the hemline ends where you need it too. Please.
-same pair of denims ok?
I feel if you can style it differently then by all means- go ahead and wear the same pair of jeans daily, weekly any amount of days.
-flare jeans
All I can say is- I was once able to pull of flare jeans but now I’m not sure how. I have to re-evaluate myself with regards to flare jeans.
-skinny jeans
This is my new favourite clothing purchase items. Doesn’t matter what shade of blue it is, for me it is a must have. It goes hand-in-hand with tights or leggings. You can wear it with anything and it portrays your bottom half of your body so great with a loose top or dress.
-white jeans
How do you pull off white jeans: I think you have to be a certain size to pull these denims off correctly and with style. Me, I’m thin but have bigger thighs especially my inner thighs and I’ve tried on a pair of white denims on but to my horror I appeared to look like a white baby elephant. This was in a cubicle so I dare not even bother purchasing it and walking in public with them on. I congratulate and am actually a bit envious of females who are able to pull white skinny jeans off. I constantly see a colleague of mine, which works in Marketing, she wears her white skinny’s with such style and fits her body so well, looks as though it was made and tailored just for her.
-black jeans
Black jeans are my favourite. They are able to make one appear thinner than what you actually are- is it a mental illusion or is that true, who knows the answer but it makes me feel great when I wear black jeans. My only concern is; how do I wash it without the black of the denim fading or white marks from the machine power getting on it. Drives me insane.
