I have been thinking and analysing life. Clothing is not just a piece of cloth wrapped and sewed into a form of a garment or something that just hangs in a wardrobe or keeps one warm and covered. If you really think about it, clothing forms a part of memories. When you think back to a function or party, you’ll always say ‘ remember when Jane wore that outfit’ or when you went out with the girls and had a fun night, when you see a garment that you wore that specific night, it will bring up all the great memories and times shared. This goes for all aspects of fashion; garments, accessories shoes, every form of it.
The ultimate is ‘dress-up parties’ which even when it is a certain decade theme seems to form the greatest and happiest memories. Now it can be a advantage and disadvantage for some. Like when your life changes and you move on, I think it is a must to go on a shopping spree. Apart from the physical part of making you feel good, it helps with the emotional part too regarding a ‘fresh start’.
So what is happening in the world of fashion lately?
I have found 4 pictures that has inspired me- this is what makes me miss designing.
I loved being creative and designing clothing, more casual clothing.
The print dress-top.
How absolutely stylish is this. Wore alone in summer and even with leggings/ tights will be great. This can also be worn with jeans as a top.
Style different: Add a thin waist belt.
Tuck it into a jean or pants.
Wear a bulky chain with it but the chain must end on the top neckline, it must not dangle down your stomach.

Long blazers with rolled up sleeve.
I love this look. Wear it to work or wear it out with friends, either way you will be looking ‘FABULOUS’
Wear it with a cute printed dress that has a little flare. The dress length is important. Don’t try ‘ pimping’ it out with a maxi. Please, you’ll not only look ridiculous but I’ll cringe if even seen.
Preferably wear unbuttoned, if there is buttons on it.
So wear with high-waisted shorts, even high-waisted trousers for the office.
Add over-the knee socks and a ankle book and you’re set.

The white jacket.
Well this is a good jacket especially in Cape Town when it is all windy and raining.
Umbrellas don’t really work here as it just breaks, so find yourself a stylish, yet affordable rain jacket.
Find a fabric that allows water to fall from it not soak it up.
But I am in desperate need and seeking a jacket like this- well I’m hoping to find one with a hood for extra protection.
Travelling to work is one thing, so keep covered- rather wear something weather resistant while travelling regardless of how you look (ps: although try to find something good for you to feel better in) and when you arrive at work you wont be drenched in water, but instead look like a million dollars image from: westflied.com |
My final print jacket with tan boots:
This outfit, for me, screams ‘ Serena Van Der Woodsen, from Gossip Girl’.
This is a great inspirational outfit! The tuck in vest with a warmer jacket always does a trick to make a outfit look “upper east side”. Well I think the hair just adds to the look. An outfit is never complete if your hair and make-up doesn’t coincide. Make the complete package look great every time you step out of your house.
Ps: remember NO chipped nail polish. It’s my weak point, I hate it, yet I occasionally have it, which is yucky.

Anyways- I’ll will be back. I love clothing and talking about it. It gets me excited and forget about the dull factors in life. Get creative- the stores are waiting for all of you!
