Snuggle Bug

So Today it ended up being really chilly and rainy. In the mornings it feels really warm but I guess it's because everything is always a rush to get done for work. Argg- it makes me so mad because I know the temperature yet I still dress in hope that it might be warm at some point during the day.
I wore a white shirt with my sleeves rolled up, jeans and pumps... Definitely the wrong outfit.
This morning my original outfit was brown boots, brown accessories and white shirt with jeans, but I decided to change- bad idea.
Anyways I love winter and the weather. I love dressing and feeling all snuggle. With coats, boots, scarves and all the trims.

Maddies cute shoes- Polka dots

 How stunning does Maddie look?
She was sophisticated yet stylish. The colour scheme resembled 'nautical' which was amazing. I love her shoes- this for me completed the whole outfit making it a form of art.
Great!!

Runway VS normal girl 2

Loving these maxi-dresses espcially in stripes. This is from Jill Sanders ready-to-wear 2011 range. Although we are moving into winter, here in Cape Town, this look is great from Summer, even Spring. It has a essence of 'Nautical', I guess it is the mere fact that it is stripes and the colours happpen to be white and blue, even the white and black below. These dresses aren't tight fitted which is a factor that I love. Not everything needs to cling to your body to be sexy or appealing. Loose fitting is just as azamzing when pulled of correctly. Another thing that made me love thhese dresses is their design: the basci neckline is not often seen in dresses. Plain and simple, resembles a vest and is both stylish sophiscation and relaxed casual. It is just so unique!
This dress, similar to the one above is not as flared but still not fitted. If you arent that daring, opt for this style. The neckline is higher which I find 'oh so appealing' and the width of the straps are wider. Although the stripes are horizontal and can pose a threat to ones figure, I would attempt purchasing and wearing this particular dress.
So now we see a fit variation of this style of maxi-dress, pulled off by a normal female who is not a runway model. She pulls this dress of with such ease and style. The neckline is similar to the blue and white maxi above, but still something about this look is a MUST. So who wore it better- runway or noral girl 2?

Runway VS normal girl

So remember this ws one of the first images on my blog- well I've seen this look! The girl (Lydia) on the right hand side with the white shirt tucked into the skirt- I loved the look then and still love the look now.

This is a image taken from a magazine, portryaing that exact look off. Well Done Lydia, you are a great fashion icon for females.  Who pulled the look off better, the runway or a individual living amoungst us...I vote the above image, an normall girl.

DENIMS

Janine- Designer

Hennelie- Designer

Rushaan- Traffic Controller

Milla- Designer

The above images are examples of the right way to wear jeans. So glad my colleagues set great examples of what I blog about.

Oh My Word- DENIMS! In 1873 Blue Jeans was invented by, the amazing, Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss. These two guys are heroes of mine as I can live in jeans. Denims are just so versatile. You can dress it up and dress it down and style it to suit your personality.
-denims
I love the various ways designer’s makes denims/jeans for guys. I studied design and fashion and found a great interest in deigning denims and jeans and although it is much easier to make it for guys, a mild design should be available to females.
- wearing broken denims:
When I was younger, I thought it was so cool to wear my jeans, covering my shoes and the ends would eventually become worn out and torn. But times have changed and honestly ‘what was I thinking!’ I could easily blame it on my tomboy stage but it was just me not knowing any better at that time. Now at this age, I find it so annoying when I see people walking around looking great but their jeans hemline is busy tearing apart. My boyfriend has a pair of jeans like that, that hemline has died long ago and it’s being shredded. Ah- why, that all I ask myself.
Jeans are bought with the hemline in tacked. If the hemline was meant to be shredded to strips, the designer would have made it that way intentionally. So let all not do that. If you are short, suffer from a lack of growth, like me, and you buy a pair of jeans; please, I beg you, take it to a tailor and get it shortened so the hemline ends where you need it too. Please.
-same pair of denims ok?
I feel if you can style it differently then by all means- go ahead and wear the same pair of jeans daily, weekly any amount of days.
-flare jeans
All I can say is- I was once able to pull of flare jeans but now I’m not sure how. I have to re-evaluate myself with regards to flare jeans.
-skinny jeans
This is my new favourite clothing purchase items. Doesn’t matter what shade of blue it is, for me it is a must have. It goes hand-in-hand with tights or leggings. You can wear it with anything and it portrays your bottom half of your body so great with a loose top or dress.
-white jeans
How do you pull off white jeans: I think you have to be a certain size to pull these denims off correctly and with style. Me, I’m thin but have bigger thighs especially my inner thighs and I’ve tried on a pair of white denims on but to my horror I appeared to look like a white baby elephant. This was in a cubicle so I dare not even bother purchasing it and walking in public with them on. I congratulate and am actually a bit envious of females who are able to pull white skinny jeans off. I constantly see a colleague of mine, which works in Marketing, she wears her white skinny’s with such style and fits her body so well, looks as though it was made and tailored just for her.
-black jeans
Black jeans are my favourite. They are able to make one appear thinner than what you actually are- is it a mental illusion or is that true, who knows the answer but it makes me feel great when I wear black jeans. My only concern is; how do I wash it without the black of the denim fading or white marks from the machine power getting on it. Drives me insane.

Kendal Jenner

OMW- she just looks great!
I think she is so naturally beautiful and has a essence about her. She doesn't even need to try to look good, she just does!

Umbrellas and rain coats

Living in Cape Town and our winter especially when you work in the City, winter gets extreme. I will go out looking for just the perfect umbrella to go with all my outfits, only to let the wind whisk it up and completely brake it. What is the point.
So now my question is- are the stylish yet affordable rain coats?
I have not seen but it's my mission to find some. Getting up and getting dressed is great but it is not so great when you have put in all this effort and energy to look amazing, simply 2 seconds of being outside (maybe running from the car to the building or even worse walking from the bus to work) ruins your complete look and nothing, I mean NOTHING can fix it.
I feel i might have that problem soon and I'm dreading everyday that leads closer and closer to our winters.
But lets see...
And so it all begins as we depart from Autumn and emerge in an extreme winter.

What inspired me today?

So getting dresses, whether it be the morning or before going out it is so much fun. It is about being creative. You might not be creative in other aspects but getting dressed is a form of creativity where each person gets to decided who or how they will look. Who they will be today- what their style will depict, depending o your mood, work place any factor.
What inspired me today? –That is the beauty of clothing and fashion. Each day or time is so unique and different and complex as it has such a vast horizon to explore. It depends entirely on “YOU” how far you are willing to explore.
Don’t hold yourself back to be creative. Experiment with colour, jewellery, make-up, just go wild. It should be so much fun. I remember being a little girl finding it so fascinating playing dress-up. I would look for various garments, walk in shoes way too big for me and find make-up to mess around with. That feeling as a little girl, with all that excitement and joy inside, that is how everyone should feel when dressing or shopping for clothing. It is the one factor that you have sole control over. Nobody can or should tell you how to dress, because dressing is one part of your personality and what makes you-you.
Don’t hold back- feel good in what you wear and how you wear it.

The awkward length of your fringe!

When you first get the thought to cut yourself a fringe, whether it be a tiny above the brow fringe or side fringe or even on the brow fringe, eventually there is the faze when it starts to grow. That certain length of your fringe I like to refer to as the ‘awkward length’. I am never sure what to do with my fringe at that point. Do I pin it to the back, pin it to the side- what to do. Then there is the factor of the weather that always adds a special tough to my fringe. I’ve tried plating it into a plate to the back, like a French plate. I will be going through that faze very soon. My hair finally started growing and my fringe is nearly over my eyes. This stage that my fringe is at, this is the stage I absolutely love. I have no idea why, maybe because I think it frames my face better or allows me to handle my hair better- whatever it is I feel good.
But I’m dreading the faze I will be heading in, it will properly be happening in 3 weeks time, really hope to conquer that faze quickly but it’s Murphy’s Law- it will take forever to pass that stage.
Ah the beauty of a fringe. When you get it, you love it. When it grows and it becomes winter during that same time, a nightmare can easily happen.

Going RED...just a touch.

I need to get a red blazer for work. Just a 'touch' of red makes you stand out. It's gorgeous!
Add to any outfit to make it stand out. I never really like red as I am very fair in complexion but a certain red just works for me.

Inspired by Winter

Winter is slow approaching us. Winter; explanation: icy nights and stormy rainy days all dull and depressing. Beside a good cup of coffee or hot chocolate, my favourite to keep warm, we have a solution of clothing!
I go absolutely insane thinking about all the outfits I could wear to work, how to wear it and where I could buy it. I think of every possible reason why I would need that specific garment. I travel to work via public transport; my excuse for ‘needing’ the greatest most stylish wellington boots and not just any pair, the pair I keep having visions about. These pair of wellington boots will go perfectly with cream tights, navy blue dress top and a cute cream scarf. My hair all swept back into a neat functional pony tail- oh how I could get inspired over clothing through the weather.

School grey pants

I had the sudden urge to go buy a pair of grey pants that some pupils would wear as their school uniform from 'School and Leisure'. I want to wear this pants to work in winter, with a stylish blouse tucked in and add a little cardigan. I think this look can be pulled off great.

Life is not about finding yourself-
Life is about creating yourself!

I saw these wise words from an editor I know. When I saw it I got so inspired because that is exactly how I feel one should dress.
When you get up in the morning, it’s not about outing something on just because it is in style at that present time ere, but putting something on that says who you are or how your are feeling today. I was told by one of my lecturers once, that if you wake up feeling down and dull- dress up. Put on heels, red lipstick or some colour. Eventually during that day people will compliment you on something, whether it is the way you look different, or even your lipstick; you’ll end up smiling and feeling much better than you did originally.
You know how some people always say dress according to the weather- well I beg to differ. I say keep the weather in mind but dress how you feel; but keep the fact that being stylish ends the look. Suffer for beauty if must but don’t freeze to death if it’s cold or give yourself blisters in a small shoe. I mean just be prepared to be a bit different.
Don’t’ be afraid to wear colour if you never do. I love colour but I know colour can be a disadvantage in some places, especially in the work place when you expect people to take you seriously.
Now back to how I get dressed in the mornings. I choose something as a main focus to arrange everything else around. Whether it’s a pair of earrings or shoes. Maybe it could be your hairstyle or nail polish colour- just get a focus point. I then start assembling your outfit like a puzzle. So my main focus today was my shoes- it is a pair of peep-toe laced up ankle boots. I added my favourite jeans which is a boyfriend styled jeans that is tucked/rolled up. I then added a bronze belt as the shoes are also similar to bronze, with a bronze bangle and chain.  My hair I swept all to the back in a little bun. My top is a blue off the shoulder baggy blue knitted top. This was my creation!
So for the future- dress yourself like you are creating yourself. Don’t care about what everyone else is wearing, but keep the trend in style.

My Style-

High-waited pants, straight slacks with side pockets
I really love this look for work. I know it's not that professional or formal but it blends in with who I am. I'm like this more relaxed yet work appropriate look. You can vary the top though from a formal shirt to the loose fits pull-over which explains me work style. Formal but relaxed and still age appropriate to ME.
Leggings, ankle boots, long vest and jacket.
As much as I'd also wear this to work, I'd prefer to wear in when going out with my fiance. It's sexy but stylish. It is comfortable and covers up. I'm very reserved when it involves 'showing skin'. I am a jeans and stylish t-shirt/top/shirt type of female. I opt more for a good look than showing skin or some garment being too tight to appear HOT. I'm more about comfort and looking good in it.
Boots for Winter 2011
I really love shoes. I'd be broke if I bought every shoe I'd seen and loved. For me a shoe can complete your outfit. When shopping for shoes, even window shopping, and I see a shoe I L.O.V.E, i immediately start imaging various outfits I can wear it with. It breaks my heart when I cant afford it or it's not in my size and takes me a while to forget about 'that' shoe. It sounds so weird that I'd even start dreaming about that shoe at night- but then again it's like that and all of fashion, not just shoes.
Tucked/rolled up denims.
I have no idea but I am such a sucker with certain pairs of my jeans to do this look. For me it adds a something extra to a plain outfit. With heels it looks great, even pumps. It reminds me of wearing the 'boyfriend style denims'- and well it helps that it adds some style. I'm not that tall, and denims don't always fit in length first time, so I'm glad that rolling up your denims either way looks good.
DON'T however roll or tuck in a bootleg or wide leg or even flared denims. When I see people doing that, I actually cringe with horror, thinking 'did they not check the mirror before leaving home.' I believe there is a limit to tucking up your jeans. Don't just do it for the sake of it being in style. It needs to look great or compliment your complete outfit. I always do this look. Try it.
Yesterday, both myself and my friend Milla pulled this look off; looking FABULOUS!

Worst Paris Fashion Week garments 2011

All I can say about this is 'What were these designers thinking?'
I guess their ideas behind their range or garments were well thought out in the mind but the vision wasn't interpreted correctly.

Milan Fashion Week 2011 ...My review on below images

This is Milan Fashion Week 2011.
All of the following styles by various designers is all sophisticated looks.
You can wear this various looks to the office or to a formal function, guaranteed to take the spotlight of the entire party.

Dolce and Gabanna-
Glam up any look with accessories. Prime example are these stunning ‘star’ earrings.
Absolutely unique! I love the black and white with a mixture of patterns as an accessory. The piano key bag- I WANT IT!! As well as the white ruffled shirt.
The sexy ‘star’ dress is a prime example of the perfect outfit  to steal the spotlight away from everyone at a cocktail party of a formal glam function. GET THIS LOOK.

Ferre-
The all nature-nude tones. This garments can be wore to any occasion. Optional to wear to work or to a function. Nude tones will never be a mistake especially these garments.

Gucci-
These Gucci looks remind me of something secret. The flared chiffon garment makes me think of being on a luxurious vacation by an exotic island. It’s stunning.
The other look looks like in a movie or scene from Tomb-Raider…sexy but don’t try to wear this look anywhere. It will not only be scary but if you don’t pull this look off correctly you’ll feel uncomfortable in all leather.

Check it out.

OMW!!! Can you believe this coincidence. Two people working at the same company but different department- similar clothing.
I guess we both just have good taste.
Check is always styled good with a plain pair of leggings. Shoes can vary from cute pumps to sexy O.M.G. heels. Depends on the occasion and your style.

CURLY look, looks so FAB

I’ve noticed the for HAIR, the latest trend is volume! Curls and waves.
It’s easier said then done. I’d really love to achieve this look but how.
Whenever I try to do any style to my hair, this heat makes it feel all thick and heavy and the end result is; me just tying it up in a bun or in a pony.
I LOVE this curly look. I am really going to attempt this look one weekend, it would be hysterical if I attempted it for work and when I arrived in Town, the wind got hold of my hair and I’d look like a hurricane hit me. Not happening.
This is a great fashion trend if you don’t want to change your hair colour- just change your hairstyle.

Black clothing + pets

I love black clothing. Black garments can be wore for and to any occasion. It can be made to look sexy, sophisticated and even professional. My question to all is- how on earth can you maintain black clothing to its fullest potential.
I have 2 dogs and it is just a nightmare. Simply their hair being there ruins all my black clothing. It’s crazy. You can clean your house, keep your dogs clean and hair short even keep them outside, yet their hair finds a way to your black garments. It’s like they are magnets that need to connect.

Nail Polish dilemma.

I have a tendency to neglect my finger nail nail-polish. It drives me insane and irrates me completely. Every time I look at my nails, I think ‘Oh I need to take it off and put a new cot on’ but for some reason it doesn’t happen.
Is it just me or is this normal?
I don’t see how it is. You could be wearing the hottest outfit, sexiest shoes, most expensive bag and BAM-IN YOUR FACE jewellery…but then your nail polish is chipping- it’s disgusting even if I must say so myself.

Badgley Mischka 2011 Ready-To-Wear

This is one of my favourite designers!!!
The 2011 range is a amazing example why I have such a passion for the mind-set behind the designers range. High-waisted shorts, skirts and pants. Sexy but formal. Very feminine, soft pastel colour scheme...which is one fo the trends. I'll be posting alot of images from Badgley Mischka...Absolute stunner!
HOT HOT HOT...wow I cant stop looking at this range...it's a must see for all.

Taylor Momsen

This style, although it says CHIC GOTHIC CHICK, it looks hot. The dramatic look seen in the make-up all compliments the paleness of her complexion and the dark clothing.
I LOVE the knitted dress woren in one of the images...if anyone knows where to purchase it...please comment on it.

Interpretation of the 'Neo' hat

This is my friend, Alfonzo- pulling off the 'Neo' hat look great!!!
This hat 'adds something extra to his outfit'- a great look to spend a summers day in.
A absolute must try.

Bronze...

Today I saw my friend, Jade, at work and she looked stunning.
Starting from the top with her earring, matching bronze beads, to her belt around her waist-line. The bronze sandals end the outfit and the dress completes this look. She really knows how to style herself, graceful and stunning all in a semi-casual way.
I love It!!

I LOVE SHOES WITH CHAINS...THIS SHOES ADDS 'GLAM' TO ANY OUTFIT!

What do you think about this look?

I'm not a fan of this look.

Gold tones

How sexy and hot is this shoe. This was wore with the earthy, gold tones in image.
Get This Look!!!

The Gold Look

I am absolutely LOVING this earthy gold tones look.

Stripes, prints and black-

So I'm absolutely LOVING the striped maxi dress in this picture- but please be carefull trying to copy this look. Horizontal stripes tend to make one appear bigger/ wider than we actually are. Similar maxi dresses in similar fabric was seen at Jay Jays.
Now the leopard print- If you had asked me 2 years ago about leopard print, I would tell you it belongs on a leopard and nowhere else, but 'here we are and leopard print has made its appearance'. Although I prefer leopard prints on a neo colour background, instead of the natural tan colour, certain garments; this skirt, looks good in the natural leopard print.
Heel are an absolute stunner...but that's because I bought a pair similar to it.
How to pull these looks off...?
